Do you have a passion for baseball and want to play an active role in making the games run smoothly? Join us as a Supervisor and be part of the action!
Position Overview: We are seeking volunteers to help ensure the successful operation of Stanley Park Ball games. As a Supervisor, you'll oversee gameplay, manage on-field activities, and help resolve any game-related issues that arise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- ● Provide leadership to umpires for all Stanley Park Ball programs (blastball, junior/senior T-Ball, and junior/senior 3-pitch)
- ● Establish clear lines of communication with umpires, volunteer coaches, and other officials to ensure game management and resolve conflicts during games (on the field)
- ● Support coaches with equipment needs, including repairs or replacements, during games
- ● Ensure timely and accurate attendance checks for umpires for scheduled shifts
- ● Attend Ball committee meetings monthly from January to June (evenings)
Time Commitment:
- ● This position runs from April to June with an option for renewal each year
- ● Attend mandatory umpire training sessions prior to the start of the session (April/May)
- ● The position requires a higher time commitment in May and June (approximately 2 to 3 evening shifts per week)
- ● Supervise 3-6 games per shift, with shifts shared among supervisors
Qualifications:
- ● Knowledge of the rules and regulations of T-Ball/Baseball is an asset
- ● Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- ● Ability to make quick decisions to resolve on-field issues
- ● Working knowledge of Google Suite for communication purposes
