Preschool Program Instructors

Position Description

We are looking for experienced preschool instructors to instruct various preschool programs  for our upcoming Winter 2026 Session:  Explorers, Little Explorers, Bouncing Babies and Sensory Play. This is a part time paid position (fee for service - not an employee) and most classes are on weekday mornings, with the exception of Tuesday afternoon.

Instructors  must have the  ability to create intentional and creative programs suitable for preschool aged children and be able to supervise multiple children at one time and respond to individual needs.  The instructor(s) will be expected to facilitate opportunities for children to improve their social skills and self-esteem, and encourage children to interact with one another and resolve occasional arguments/conflict.  

Duties Include:

Planning weekly activities suitable to the programs listed 

Engaging participants in activities

Effective and efficient problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to quick paced changes in environments and behaviours 

Maintaining a clean and tidy preschool room space

Complying with cleaning/sanitizing policies as set out in the program manual. 


Requirements: 

Experience working with preschool aged children (ages 18 months to 4 years old) 

Understanding of the principles of child development and preschool aged requirements

Familiarity with Risk management and safety protocols for preschool aged groups 

Ability to facilitate child-to-child connections and be a mediator between children 

Communication skills to communicate effectively with parents, assistants, and children 

Energetic, enthusiastic, and friendly attitude 

Able to commit to days and times of program, for full session duration.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel and lift up to 25 pounds

Police Check (with vulnerable sector check) must be provided. Must be 18 ears of age or older.
