Location: Stanley Park Community Centre

Contract Duration: July 6 - August 23, 2026 (7 weeks)

Hours: Part-time (approx. 6-16 hours/week)

Wage: $21/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and creative instructors to lead our new Summer Kids Club and Pop-Up Programs. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with a variety of age groups and can deliver engaging, active, and inclusive programming in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead engaging, multi-activity programs including crafts, sports, games, and outdoor play

  • Facilitate the Summer Kids Club programs (ages 4-12) in age-specific groups

  • Lead Pop-Up Programs for children, teens, and older adults

  • Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities, and group sizes

  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants

  • Set up and clean up program spaces daily

  • Communicate effectively with SPCA and City of Kitchener staff, participants, and parents

  • Attend a paid program planning meeting with the Program Manager prior to the start of the session

Program Schedule

Tuesday-Thursday:

  • 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Summer Kids Club

  • 1:00 - 3:00 pm: Pop-Up Programs

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children (required), experience with teens or older adults is an asset

  • Ability to lead a variety of activities (sports, games, crafts, etc.)

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Organized, adaptable, and dependable

  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred or willing to obtain)

  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 3 months (required) 

Additional Information

  • Instructors must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors

  • Summer Kids Club Programs will run regardless of registration levels (no cancellations) 

  • Pop-Up Program schedules and formats may vary week-to-week
