Program Equipment Coordinator

Position Description


Do you enjoy finding the best deals and creating organizational systems?

We are seeking a volunteer to manage the equipment and supplies for our programs!



Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Complete inventory of program equipment at the end of each session (4 times a year)

  • Replace broken equipment as needed within a given budget

  • Assist with purchasing new equipment in coordination with the Program Lead

  • Research costs on requested items and report findings to the Program Committee and Program Lead

  • Keep track of equipment purchases and replacement on a master list which is regularly updated

  • Work with the City of Kitchener, Program Lead and Community Partners to schedule cleaning of SPCA equipment

  • Communicate with Equipment Assistant on items needing to be assembled and/or inflated, labelling of all SPCA equipment

  • Create a plan for washing pinnies and kitchen towels as needed 



Time Commitment:


  • Research and purchase program equipment as needed each session - 3 hours/session 

  • Approximately 3 hours/month to attend to general duties regarding equipment organisation 

  • Attend monthly program meetings (Second Tuesday of each month except August) from 7-9pm.



Qualifications:


  • Experience in a purchasing role is an asset

  • Administrative/equipment inventory management support experience considered an asset

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Attention to detail, ability to multitask

  • A desire to serve the community in an important function

  • A team player willing to take responsibility



Training and Professional Development:


  • Basic Health and Safety, AODA and evacuation training provided

  • Facility Tour and overview of programs and events 

  • Training in specific software used by the Association



Supervision and Accountability:


  • Ongoing weekly check-ins to monitor position tasks

  • Formal supervision will occur every three months, or sooner if requested
