We’re looking for a dedicated and community-minded volunteer to take on the role of Food Distribution Program Coordinator at the Stanley Park Community Association.
In this leadership role, you’ll guide and support a team of volunteers to ensure our weekly food distribution program runs smoothly and efficiently, helping local families access the food they need in a welcoming and respectful environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong communication and organizational skills, and wants to make a meaningful impact in their community.
As the Food Distribution Program Coordinator, you’ll:
Provide on-site leadership to our volunteer team during food distribution.
Communicate regularly with volunteers, the Food Programs Lead, and partners like the City of Kitchener and the Waterloo Region Food Bank.
Support scheduling, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and attend monthly meetings to share updates and ideas.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 10 hours per month - 4 hours to attend meetings, respond to emails, provide support and coordination, 6 hours to attend food distribution program weekly
Food Distribution runs Wednesdays, 10:45 AM – 12:15 PM
Qualifications:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience with food distribution programs (like The Food Bank) is an asset
A collaborative, compassionate approach to community service
Training & Support:
You’ll receive orientation, basic health & safety, and AODA training
Ongoing support from our Food Programs Lead and Volunteer Engagement Manager.
